Who is the Waukesha Web Designer
Hi my name is Jeremy, I am a freelance designer, developer, blogger, entrepreneur and web 2.0 strategist, living and working in the Waukesha area, between Delafield and Oconomowoc. My “company’s” name is Papertree Design, and I use the term company loosely because really it is just me as a freelancer, you are welcome to just call me Jeremy if you prefer. My work seems to center around web design but is not limited to, as I have experience with logo/identity creation, print and even graphic apparel.
My goals for creating this site are many. First and foremost I see it as a way to help educate local business owners on the advantages of creating a strong web presence and how they might go about doing so, as well as the endless tools the internet provides them to become a more productive company. I also see it as a place were I can share some of my experiences relating to a whole range of topics including design, SEO, web 2.0 strategy, usability, social networking and even some coding. And last but not least I plan on sharing some of my other less than web related work such as logo and brand design. Besides lets be honest with each other here, being that I am from the Waukesha area and design websites, I would have been plain stupid to pass this one up.
So a bit more about me. Well, I started tinkering with the internet in the mid 90’s when I attempted to launch an online magazine, sadly this attempt was short lived and perhaps if I had followed through things would be slightly different for me at this point. Any way I went on to explore other exciting things in life and only until a few years ago to I stumble back into using the world wide web for more than an informational tool. It all started when I began creating AS|ONE Clothing and took on the task of designing that companies web presence. And the rest is history, the web is now both my job and my hobby. In addition to web design I continue to develop the AS|ONE Clothing brand, I blog regularly about small business at Viral Thinking, I dabble in other areas of design such logo and identity creation and I am in the process of once again laying the foundation for an online magazine.
Lastly I am also somewhat of a WordPress fanatic as you will soon find out and I spend a great deal of my so called “down time” learning every nook and cranny of the platform. If you are unfamiliar with WordPress perhaps you might want to read a bit more about it here.
So feel free to follow along and together we can create a stronger web community in the Waukesha area.
